From the 19th to the 22nd of June 2017, the «Palais des Congrès de Strasbourg” hosts the 12th edition of the ITS European Congress, which main topic is “ITS Beyond Borders”.
Trialog will be on the IRT SytemX booth (S10) to present ISE project (for ITS Security) that proposes and implements cooperative ITS security.
The main objective of ISE project is to define an embedded and infrastructure security system for the C-ITS (cooperative ITS).
C-ITS enables vehicles and Road Side Unit (RSU) to exchange automatically and in real time traffic information, warning about road hazards or car-crashes. This information is provided by various sensors and enables the vehicle to provide relevant information to the drivers, or to perform automatic and semi-automatic actions if possible (as an emergency breaking). C-ITS should widely improve road safety, reduce traffic jam, reduce carbon dioxide emission and allow safer, quicker and cleaner transports.
Within the ISE project, Trialog provides the reference implementation of the security sub-system embedded in vehicles and Road Side Unit. This sub-system is a security stack that ensures core properties for the communication in C-ITS and coming autonomous vehicles. The communications between various nodes, mobile or not, of the C-ITS network are pseudonomyzed and authenticated using certificates provide by a Private Key Infrastructure (PKI). The mechanisms provide to the vehicles movements to be untraceable as time goes by avoiding linkability between pseudonyms and a specific vehicle. Moreover, they ensure the authentication of the received messages.
